One of the greatest joys in my life was teaching my kids to read and hear them read out loud. Watching my children choose books, and immerse themselves into a story, and hear them laugh or feel the suspense of the writing is a priceless gift.  

I became a globally passionate person when I realized many mothers around the world couldn’t read and would never share this gift with their children.  I am invested in the expansion of education especially for girls because literacy is one of the greatest gifts we can provide. When my children were very small a group of 8 mothers and I from our town sponsored a group of 9 women in Nepal so they could have access to education and small business training.

Recently, My daughter, Madeline, and I traveled to Uganda to work in the school and orphanage at Kasozi Village.
